Civil Engineer (Structural Analyst)

JOB OBJECTIVE

Develop Conceptual, Basic, and Detailed engineering for the Civil/Structures specialty efficiently and effectively, under the highest quality standards and implementing solid technical knowledge of calculation and analysis, as well as considering applicable national and international standards, codes, and norms, to ensure safe, functional, and efficient technical solutions for projects in various sectors and industries.


ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED/FUNCTIONS:
  1. Perform calculations and analyses of steel structures, concrete, foundations, or other civil works requirements for projects in various sectors and industries.
  2. Ensure that all designs, calculations, and analyses comply with applicable local, national, and international standards, codes, and regulations.
  3. Generate and present technical documentation and calculation reports.
  4. Generate drawings, technical specifications, and other required technical documentation in coordination with the multidisciplinary design team.
  5. Conduct conceptual studies to determine the technical feasibility and economic viability of projects in various sectors and industries.
  6. Review and supervise third-party detailed engineering.
  7. Thoroughly review designs of existing structures, proposing necessary improvements or modifications.
  8. Collaborate with engineers from various disciplines, such as electrical, mechanical, instrumentation and control, piping, processes, etc., as well as with personnel from other areas (commercial, construction, quality, HSE, etc.) to integrate the required technical information (standards, criteria, and specific technical requirements, etc.) to be considered during the project's design phase.
  9. Document design, calculation, and analysis methodologies to facilitate internal and external review and audit processes.
  10. Execute a wide variety of engineering tasks, applying solid technical knowledge, techniques, and methodologies within the Civil/Structures specialty, particularly efficiently and accurately.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 3 years in:

  • Design, calculation, and analysis of steel structures, concrete, foundations, or other civil works requirements.
  • Development of Conceptual, Basic, and Detailed engineering in the Civil/Structures specialty.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
  1. Solid technical knowledge in statics, strength of materials, structural analysis, and structural design.
  2. Knowledge of the following standards and codes: NTC, ACI, AISC, AWS, ASCE, CFE (Civil Works Design Manual).
  3. Advanced knowledge of MS Office.
  4. Advanced knowledge of structural analysis software: STAAD Pro (Preferably), Ram Elements, and SAP 2000.
  5. Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, including 3D (the latter is desirable).
  6. Proficiency in MS Vision (the latter is desirable).
  7. Basic level of English.

  1. Generate 2D CAD drawings, diagrams, schemes, and 3D models of mechanical equipment of any complexity and piping systems that are part of the multidisciplinary project documentation and basic and detailed engineering documentation for energy sector projects, steel industry, etc.
  2. Generate technical specifications and data sheets for static and dynamic mechanical equipment, as well as for piping systems.
  3. Perform calculations and designs in the mechanical and piping specialty according to standards and norms.
  4. Provide technical advice and supervision on-site for piping installation.

BASIC DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE IN:
  1. At least 3 years of experience in generating plans/drawings, diagrams, schemes, and other documents that are part of conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering packages in the mechanical and piping specialty for various industrial sector projects.
  2. At least 3 years of experience developing and reviewing conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering in the mechanical specialty for various industrial sector projects.

  1. Generate plans, drawings, sketches, diagrams, schemes, and other technical documents that are part of Conceptual, Basic, and Detailed engineering packages for the Civil-Structures specialty for projects in various sectors and industries.
  2. Detail engineering of concrete elements (formwork plans, reinforcement plans, foundations, rebar schedules, material lists, etc.), steel elements (assembly plans, erection plans, welded and bolted connections), and masonry elements (formwork and reinforcement plans).
  3. Ensure that all designs comply with applicable local, national, and international standards, codes, and regulations.
  4. Review and supervise third-party Basic and Detailed engineering for the Civil-Structures specialty.
  5. Collaborate with engineers from various disciplines, such as electrical, mechanical, instrumentation and control, piping, processes, etc., as well as with personnel from other areas (commercial, construction, quality, HSE, etc.) to integrate the required technical information (plans/drawings, standards, criteria, and specific technical requirements, etc.) to be considered during the project's design phase.
  6. Provide technical support in Drawing.
  7. Execute a wide variety of engineering tasks, applying solid technical knowledge, techniques, and methodologies within the Civil-Structures specialty, particularly efficiently and accurately.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 2 years in:

  • Preparing plans, drawings, sketches, diagrams, schemes of concrete, steel, and masonry elements, and other technical documents that are part of Conceptual, Basic, and Detailed engineering packages.
  • Reviewing and supervising third-party Basic and Detailed engineering based on best practices (generating redlines) to provide evidence of third-party engineering review/supervision.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
  1. Interpretation of plans, technical specifications, calculation reports, etc.
  2. Knowledge of the following standards and codes: NTC, ACI, AISC, AWS, ASCE, CFE (Civil Works Design Manual), etc.
  3. Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel).
  4. Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, including 3D (the latter is desirable).
  5. Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D (desirable).
